Dan Wakeling

Bio:

Dan Wakeling oversees Hilton’s luxury growth in Europe & Africa and branded residential growth in EMEA. With more than 25 years’ experience in international hotel development and investment roles, Dan has led Hilton’s luxury & residential development strategy since 2016. This is Dan’s second stint, the first was with the Real Estate department from May 2005 to Nov 2009 during which time he oversaw and was involved in the sale of Hilton hotels across the UK and Europe on long term management agreements with a value of over $2B. Following the BLX acquisition Dan moved across to development reporting to Patrick responsible for strategic relationships in Europe. Dan has a background in finance working with Ferrier Hodgson and Bankers Trust in Australia and the Mellon Bank of NY in London up until the late 90’s. He began his hotel career with Dransfield & Co Hotels in Australia advising on buy and sell side hotel transactions, asset management assignments and expert witness reports. During his hiatis from Hilton he led the M&A team at Kingdom Hotel Investment in Dubai that owned significant stakes in Four Seasons, Fairmont Raffles and Mopvenpick Hotels as well as portolfio of 30 hotels in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. After Kingdom Dan moved to New York to join the Trump Organisation as the SVP and global head of aqcuisitions and development before rejoing Hilton in March of 2016.
