Together we can create a healthy environment where our community and the world can flourish.
Questex is committed to creating sustainable, healthy spaces that make a positive impact on the communities we touch. We have joined the Net Zero Carbon Event initiative alongside our vendor partners and colleagues in the commitment to be Net Zero by 2050. To support this goal we have joined the ISLAmembership association focused on event sustainability and we will implement their TRACE tool to measure and reduce carbon emissions associated with this year's event.
Athenaeum Intercontinental Athens
The Athenaeum Intercontinental Athens is committed to environmental stewardship and has been recognised with the prestigious Green Key award for over 10 years. Below are some of the key sustainability practices in place:
- Energy-Efficient Lighting: The hotel uses LED lamps to minimise energy consumption without compromising on luxury.
- Water Conservation: Reduced-flow showerheads and sink restrictors ensure water efficiency while maintaining guest comfort.
- Waste Reduction: Organic food waste is converted into compost in partnership with the Athens municipality.
- Reusable Amenities: Single-use bathroom amenities have been replaced with elegant, reusable dispensers to reduce waste.
- Comprehensive Recycling: The hotel recycles paper, plastics, metals, and batteries through a well-established program.
- Locally Sourced Products: Sourcing primarily from local suppliers reduces emissions associated with transportation.
- Sustainable Meetings: Digital signage, reusable serviceware, and plastic-free water service are some of the ways the hotel promotes sustainable events.
These initiatives reflect the hotel’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact and provide guests with a sustainable luxury experience.
